Articulate Rise — A Polished, Interactive Course Site
A full eLearning course built in Articulate Rise: clean lesson navigation, embedded video, accordions, tabs, drag-match interactions, audio narration, and knowledge checks.
Project Overview
A K-12 literacy curriculum publisher that had been shipping PDFs and quizzes for years. Districts were starting to ask for SCORM-ready packages they could drop into their LMS, and the publisher's first attempt in Rise looked like a default template. They wanted a Rise course that looked like a real product, not a corporate compliance module.
The brief was 12 lessons across 6 sections, deployable into the district's existing LMS as a SCORM package, runnable on school networks, and themed against the publisher's brand so it does not read as a Rise default.
Learners land on a course home with progress always visible. They navigate a clean sidebar of sections and lessons, watch a short intro video, read instructional text with images, switch between tabs to compare concepts, drag items to match in interactive activities, hear audio narration alongside key passages, and close each lesson with a quick knowledge check.
The whole course was built in Articulate Rise 360 with a custom theme via CSS/JS injection. The asset pipeline (video, audio, illustrations, knowledge checks) was standardised so future lessons follow the same spine. The SCORM package dropped cleanly into the client's LMS on first upload, with no manifest rework required.

Edited in Premiere Pro, with on-screen captions and a branded title card.

Authored against specific learning objectives, with feedback states tuned to the rubric.

Alongside key passages, mastered in Adobe Audition for school speakers and headphones.

Each anchored to a learning objective in the storyboard.
SCORM 1.2 and 2004 packages
Both tested in the client's LMS sandbox before go-live.

Design and Build Process
Storyboard Per Lesson Type
Mapped each lesson to a block pattern: video + text + knowledge check, tabs + drag-match, or accordion + audio. Standardised so future lessons follow the same spine.
Custom Theme and Asset Kit
Built a custom Rise theme with brand colours, typography, and iconography. Asset kit covers callout styles, badge variants, and quiz feedback states.
Media Production
Recorded and edited the intro videos in Premiere Pro. Mastered audio narration in Adobe Audition. Illustrated callouts and characters in Figma against the publisher's brand.
Knowledge Check Authoring
Wrote and reviewed every knowledge check against the source material. Each one is anchored to a specific learning objective in the storyboard, not a vibe check.
SCORM Packaging and LMS Test
Exported as SCORM 1.2 and 2004. Tested the manifest on the client's LMS sandbox. Fixed every completion and bookmarking bug before go-live.
